eich bhàna
Eich Bhàna (meaning “White Horses” in Scottish Gaelic) is my graduate film from Edinburgh College of Art.
The film aims to paint a picture of a specific place - the North West of Scotland - and to explore the relationship between people, animal life, and the dramatic environment of sea and mountain. The story revolves around that of a fisherman struggling with his fears and with a feral horse stranded on a small island. Initially the characters and their remote location symbolize isolation. However, as the narrative unfolds, this notion begins to evolve. Wilderness can be both isolating and liberating. |
Eich Bhàna was awarded Best Animation at MG Alba's FilmG Awards 2017, selected for the Xpo North showcase, and was screened at the 2016 Hebridean International Film Festival.
