Recently I've been putting together a few new things for 2018;
There's a new blog!
It's a basic Tumblr blog for posting sketches, experiments, ideas, and perhaps other interesting or adventurey things. I've got some new ideas for possible projects and animations for this year, and a new blog would be great for documenting and developing any ideas! Check it out @ alimorbheanna.tumblr.com
And a new showreel!
I've also created a new showreel for 2018. So if you fancy a wee look at clips from my animations old and new, you can have a watch on Vimeo @ vimeo.com/251199088
Eich Bhàna wins Best Animation at FilmG Alba 2017!
A few weeks past I was able to attend the FilmG awards ceremony in Glasgow, where the winning films were announced, and what a night it was! It was so inspiring to see the variety of films being made in Gaelic, by all ages, and to meet many other enthusiastic filmmakers. I am so thrilled to have been a part of FilmG; this competition is such fantastic way to promote and encourage Gaelic film-making, as well as encourage creativity throughout Scotland - particularly in more rural areas such as the Highlands & Islands.
A huge thank you to all the team at FilmG and to everyone who watched, voted, shared, and gave kind comments and support for Eich Bhàna. I'm delighted that so many people were able to watch and enjoy the film! Eich Bhàna is still available to watch online, along with all the other nominated and winning films, so do check out the website at filmg.co.uk.
Exciting times ahead now; I've been a tad slow at updating my website here, but I've also been busy researching into buying my own equipment (to create more hand-drawn animations to the likes of Eich Bhàna and beyond!) and thinking over new project ideas. There are many stories to be found in the landscapes and culture of Scotland - and FilmG has given me more motivation to get out there and tell them!
Mòran taing a chàirdean!
Happy new year everyone!
I begin 2017 with some exciting news: Eich Bhàna has been shortlisted for 'Best Animation' at FilmG Alba! FilmG is a fantastic Gaelic short film competition aimed at inspiring and promoting Gaelic-themed films. Now through FilmG's website and Vimeo, the full Eich Bhàna is available to watch online for the first time!
If you like the film, you can vote for Eich Bhàna in the competition by clicking the wee yellow button.
The final winners will be announced in February at the FilmG award ceremony in Glasgow. A big thank you to everyone who has already voted, shared, and given kind comments about the film! I really appreciate all the support. It's so rewarding just to have the film watched and enjoyed by so many people. Tapadh leibh!
